Do Oaths of Office really matter?

President Obama took his oath of office twice. The first time the words got mixed, the next day he and Chief Justice Roberts did it again.

Does it really matter? Who really cares?

Well, please forgive me but: Yes, it does matter and I care that is who! BUT you may ask WHY??

In our generation we have witnessed some of the largest thefts from people, corporations, government, and religious groups- the lack of integrity and ethics is appalling (that is if you have a shred of decency). We have laws to regulate society but cannot keep politicians, corporate heads, religious leaders and everyday people honest. It used to be your word was your bond. Now we cannot even check a book out at the library without a contract and library card.

Oaths really only mean something to people who are legitimate anyway- what do I mean legitimate? Well they understand they are members of society and realize the importance of following society's rules. If they disagree they make legimate attempts to change the rule- here in America it is guaranteed in our First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, that all legitimate Americans have a RIGHT to "redress of Grievance" that means to ask our leadership to listen to us. Not necessarily do anything about it, afterall, this is a Democratic Republic. BUT if enough people object and are vocal about it they will get the ear of the elected leadership or that leader will find themself out on their ear.

Now what does that have to do with Oaths?? Well our elected officials just rammed a Healthcare reform bill down our collective throats without so much as a VOTE. They are in direct violation of there Oaths because they have not listened to us, have violated our Freedom of Choice. NOW, we see them doing the same with Immigration Reform.

The issue is not Immigration, the issue is ILLEGAL Immigration. America is all about LEGAL Immigration, that is how most of us got here. Amnesty in th 80's allowed more of us to stay Legally. BUT here is the problem, TERRORISM, DRUG DEALERS, ILLEGAL ALIENS, HUMAN TRAFFICING- these things damage our society. It is about ILLEGAL activity, it is not about RACISM. You never hear a Canadian say "Aye you are racially profiling me by preventing me from crossing your border ILLEGALLY!", you don't hear Haition (sic) boat people screaming "Racist" when the Coast Guard intercepts them trying to access Freedom. In fact most receive Assylum Status- if the are LEGITIMATE!

My paternal grandparents Legally migrated here, they learned our customs, and traditions. They learned our language and to read and write English. They pledged their allegiance to the United States of America. They rejected their old country and wholeheartedly accepted their new country.

IT IS NOT RACIST TO DEMAND AN OATH OF ALLEGIANCE TO ONE"S CHOSEN COUNTRY. No one forced you to come here, you came because you saw a better opportunity for yourself and your family. Welcome, if you mean to fulfill your OATH. Good Bye, if you want to make America a clone of your old country.

Don't Tread On ME! was a flag from the 1770's that meant leave my Freedoms alone. It was a warning to ALL tyrants (whether a foreign country all inclusive or one person).

I served in the United States Armed Forces and took an Oath to protect the U.S. Constitution and defend my nation against ALL enemies: foreign and domestic. I meant it then, and I mean it today! DON'T TREAD ON ME!
